For over a decade, Rick Chapman collaborated with ESPN to make intimate portraits of players preceding the Super Bowl, NBA Finals, Stanley Cup Finals and the World Cup. For the Super Bowl and NBA Finals sessions, players physically engage with the cherished championship NFL Vince Lombardi and NBA Larry O’Brien trophies and were asked to talk about what the trophy means to them. The portraits and interviews were turned into short stylized video vignettes that aired throughout the televised NBA Finals games in 2008, ‘09, ‘10, ‘12, ‘13, &’14, Superbowl XXXVII & XL, the World Cup in 2006, and NHL Stanley Cup in 2003 & ’04.
